SWEEAC PROVIDES CLOTHING FOR ORPHANED CHILDREN IN HAITI

The disastrous earthquake which occurred in Haiti on January 12, 2010 created a serious need for humanitarian Assistance to the region. In addition to medical supplies, food and water, children orphaned as a result of the earthquake needed clothing. SWEEAC responded to this need by partnering with Deskan Institute and Training, Inc. and Women’s Missionary Society. SWEEAC made a large donation of children’s clothing that was taken to Haiti on April 15-22, 2010 by members of Deskan. The caregivers at the orphanages that were visited were grateful to receive the donations. SWEEAC is thankful to Claudette Rainey who led this effort. As both World Relief Volunteer at Deskan and member of a SWEEAC partner church (Greater Turner Chapel A.M.E.), she was the perfect person to facilitate this much needed mission.
