An outreach ministry supported by thirteen churches, SWEEAC is unique due to an interfaith association of seven denominations. In 2007, SWEEAC began a journey that changed the direction and outlook of the agency. This summary is provided to share our many accomplishments that have occurred since that time.
| May 2007 | Moved to new facility at 1040 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. New space provides larger food pantry, clothing closets, office and classroom space. |
| May 2007 | Two new churches joined the SWEEAC team; Greater Turner Chapel A.M.E. and West Hunter Street Baptist. |
| July 2007 | A “Kid’s Korner” was created for children of all ages to read donated books while parents are assisted in the Center. |
| July 2007 | Raised money to support The Atlanta Community Food Bank through the Annual Hunger Walk. |
| July 2007 | Expanded our Career Center by posting more jobs offered citywide and providing guidance with resume preparation. |
| July 2007 | Received notification of grant awarded by The Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. |
| August 2007 | A successful Back to School Event held. Approximately 300 book bags filled with grade appropriate supplies given to children at risk. |
| Sept. 2007 | The “Friends of SWEEAC” Financial Campaign produces outstanding funds to support operating expenses for the Center. |
| Oct. 2007 | Website previously under construction is launched. |
| Oct. 2007 | Held our 19th Annual Anniversary Celebration at Hoosier Memorial United Methodist Church. |
| Nov. 2007 | Thanksgiving food boxes were distributed to 291 families feeding 1,150 family members. |
| Dec. 2007 | City of Atlanta, Mayor’s Office awarded SWEEAC grant to provide more food to families during the Christmas holidays. |
| Dec. 2007 | On Saturday, December 22, 2007, food, toys, bikes and gift cards were distributed to families in need. The Mayor’s Office was on site and Atlanta Fire and Police Department provided assistance to families and directed traffic. Fox 5 News was also on site and aired the event at 6:00 p.m. |
| Dec. 2007 | Christmas boxes were provided to 352 families feeding 1,610 family members. Toys were provided to 555 children between the ages birth to twelve years and 108 gift cards were provided to teens between 13 to 16 years. |

| Jan. 2008 | SWEEAC and Director Ernesta B. Ingram receives The Atlanta Chapter NAACP R.L. White Community Service Award during the Annual Emancipation Day Service. |
| Jan. 2008 | In partnership with DFACS and The Atlanta Community Food Bank, SWEEAC provides initial food stamps counseling and assistance from on-site counselors. |
| March 2008 | Pine Sol recognizes Ernesta B. Ingram as a “Woman Who Makes A Difference”. |
| April 2008 | Department of Family and Children Services recognizes SWEEAC for outstanding support and service to their holiday program. |
| June 2008 | Added St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church as a SWEEAC partner. |
| July 2008 | 200 fans donated through Senior Citizen Services distributed to needy families. |
| Aug. 2008 | Distributed over 350 book bags and school supplies to needy children. 275 new books distributed to school age children through The Books for Miles Foundation. |
| Aug. 2008 | SWEEAC is one of two agencies receiving The Faith and the City Beloved Community Award for Best Practices in Public Ministry. |
| Sept. 2008 | Hillside Chapel and Truth Center, Inc. joins the SWEEAC family as it’s newest partner church. |
| Oct. 2008 | SWEEAC celebrates 20 years serving the Southwest Atlanta community. SWEEAC Director, Ernesta B. Ingram receives The Phoenix Award from the Mayor’s Office, City of Atlanta. |
| Nov. 2008 | Thanksgiving food boxes were distributed to 507 families, a total of 1,452 family members. |
| Dec. 2008 | Our Christmas event supported 515 food boxes to families, 555 toys to children birth – twelve years of age and 80 gift cards to teens 13-16 years of age. 2008 Totals: Pounds of Food Distributed: 119,802 Individuals Served: 10,086 |
| Jan. 2009 | Greater Deliverance Baptist Church joins the SWEEAC family. |
| Feb. 2009 | SWEEAC is recipient of coats, blankets and hats donated through Project Overcoat. |
| Feb. 2009 | CNN airs segment entitled, “Hunger in America” on Feb. 26, 2009. The report focused on the growing number of people who are seeking assistance from pantries due to loss of jobs and the change in the economy. Executive Director, Ernesta Ingram was interviewed and appeared several times during this report. |
| March 2009 | SPARC Health Screenings took place Monday, March 30, 2009 at the SWEEAC Center. Screenings for Blood Glucose, HIV/AIDS, Pap and Breast Exams were some of the services provided on site. |
| May 2009 | Mother’s Day shoeboxes filled with personal items were distributed to 250 clients. |
| August 2009 | The Back to School Event was held Saturday, August 8, 2009. School age children received over 257 book bags and grade appopriate school supplies. |
| Sept. 2009 | The Center distributed TEFAP food to 500 families. This food was provided from stimulus funds made available from the Obama Administration. |
| Sept. 2009 | The floods that affected the Atlanta area sent families to SWEEAC for food boxes, clothing, school supplies and MARTA Breeze cards. |
| Oct. 2009 | Health Screenings were made available on Monday, October 12, 2009. Some of the screenings included flu shots, breast exams, pap smears, cholesterol and blood pressure. |
| Nov. 2009 | Over 500 families received food from TEFAP leading up to the Thanksgiving hoilday. |
| Dec. 2009 | SWEEAC provided food boxes, toys, bikes, gift cards and books to 200 families for Christmas. |
| March 2010 | Living Well Workshops began. The workshops teaches clients how to have more control over health conditions and techniques to use to make treatment decisions. |
| March 2010 | Board Members and volunteers participated in the Hunger Walk. |
| March 2010 | SPARC sponsored Health Fair takes place. Over 100 participants received free health screeings. |
| March 2010 | A generous donation of children’s clothing was shipped to Haiti from the SWEEAC clothing closet. |
| April 2010 | Staff and volunteers distrbuted 500 bags of food thanks to TEFAP and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. |
| April 2010 | Interviewed by Life Conversations Radio, an internet site to an international audience. |
| April 2010 | Over 400 seniors received food boxes through CSFP and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. |
| May 2010 | The Commondity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), provides 130 food boxes to seniors each month. |
| August 2010 | Over 250 school age children received book bags, school supplies and new books during our annual Back to School event. |
| August 2010 | Thirty plus non-profit agencies met at the SWEEAC location to discuss hunger and how it is affecting the community. This session was sponsored by The Atlanta Community Food Bank. |
| Sept. 2010 | A new program funded through ACFB provided food to the community by way of a mobile unity. Several hundred pounds of food were unloaded at the SWEEAC parking lot and distributed to several hundred families. |

| October 2010 | The first Volunteer Of The Year Award presented at the Annual Anniversary Celebration was given to Mrs. Ruby Dozier. |
| November 2010 | 250 families received food boxes at our Annual Thanksgiving Food Distribution Event. |
| December 2010 | 200 food boxes were distributed with toys, bikes, and new books from Books For Miles, at our Annual Christmas Food And Toy Distribution. |
| January 2011 | During the M.L.K. Jr. Holiday Weekend, IT Professionals came together to form GiveCampAtlanta. This organization provided IT help to Non-Profit Organizations. Their technical assistance provided SWEEAC with a new website. Jeff Ammons spearheaded this event and continues to offer his undying technical support with the web site. |
| March 2011 | On Sunday, March 13, 2011, Over 50 individuals supported SWEEAC in The Annual Hunger Walk sponsored by The Atlanta Community Food Bank. In addition, The Atlanta Community Food Bank came to SWEEAC with their Mobile Unit to distribute food and non perishables to the community. This event served 200 families. |
| April 2011 | SPARC came to SWEEAC to give a free Health Fair that screened for Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Glucose Levels, HIV, Dental, and Vision. The Fair served approximately 100 individuals. |
| May 2011 | On may 24, 2011, 50,163 pounds of food was delivered to us from the Atlanta Community Food Bank as part of their TEFAP program. May 25th was our TEFAP distribution day. We served 350 families and aided 1,351 individuals. The event was a great success. Thank you to all of our volunteers and the ACFB. |

| Oct 2011 | Our SWEEAC Anniversary Luncheon was held at Radcliffe Presbyterian Church U.S.A. . Rev. Dr. Bernice Kirkland provided an inspiring message for the event. Roland Pope was recognized as our Volunteer Of The Year. |
| Oct 2011 | SWEEAC sponsored a free health fair provided by SPARC. This event gives free screenings for Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Glucose levels, hearing and vision screenings, as well as Dental Screenings and HIV Testing. The event provided service to more than 100 participants. |
| Nov 2011 | SWEEAC provided Thanksgiving baskets to more than 250 families. |
| Dec 2011 | The BOARD provided a Christmas Luncheon and Program for our volunteers. The Luncheon consisted of caroling, games, and great food! SWEEAC provided Christmas food boxes and Toys to more than 300 families. |
